Why I want to meet NYCinephile

I’d like to meet NYCinephile to thank him for enhancing my usage of 43Things.

Every time I check his recent comments, I see how he interacts with people on his Daily: Reflect on 5 things for which I am grateful goal (that’s probably a paraphrase.) I admire this, and I’m taking up the practice myself on my similar goal (which doesn’t have “DAILY” at the front of it.) It’s a wonderful way to get to know people here.

Also, I would love to get some pointers from him about places to go in NYC the next time I manage to get there. It’s been so long for me. I think he knows things about the city that I would like to know too.

I get the sense he’s genuinely interested, empathic, a great listener. It’s the way he so consistently poses questions, recounts experiences, based on the content of the posts he reads, and as result engages the poster in a meaningful dialogue. His approach is like a cheer, but better, because it furthers the conversation. That’s the way to build relationships.

he really reads people’s entries and his comments show that he thinks about what he says in response. i love the way he comments on specific lines that he quotes at the top of his entries.

he seems like a lovely, gentle person and i bet he makes a brilliant friend.

Oh, seriously? Because he seems sincere, intelligent, kind, supportive, quietly outgoing (not pushy, just friendly and kind).
